Homeward Bound is happy to announce that we will be open during this time to service you and your pets. Due to the continued developments with COVID-19, our office has changed our procedures for check-in and check-out. We are actively taking extra steps to continue offering care for your pets while providing you and our team members a safe environment. Please see below for important information about your pet's upcoming appointments.
Effective Monday, April 20, 2020, we will only be doing curbside check-ins/check-outs in order to limit exposure inside of our office. When you arrive in the morning, you will line up in your vehicle on the north side of our building (we will have signs and someone standing outside to direct you where to go). Please remain in your vehicle and a technician will service you in the order of arrival. A technician will bring your pet inside to perform an examination with the veterinarian. Please make sure you have a cell phone with you so that we may communicate with you while your pet is inside the building.
All customers will now be REQUIRED to wear a mask for all vaccine/surgery drop off and pick-up appointments. If you do not have a mask, you may use a scarf, t-shirt, bandanna, or other form of a face covering. If you are not wearing a mask when we approach your car window, we may have to ask you to reschedule the appointment. All employees will be wearing masks as well. This is to ensure the safety of everyone involved and allows us to take necessary precautions in order to remain open.
SURGERY APPOINTMENTS: Once you check in with the technician, you will be asked to wait in the parking lot until the examination is complete to ensure your pet is healthy enough to stay with us for the day. You will receive a call from the lobby once we have completed their check-in and examination and are good to head out until your pick-up time later that afternoon. Once your pet is out of surgery, you will receive a call from us that will include your pet's pick up time and detailed post care instructions. We will also be taking payment over the phone at that time (we accept either visa credit cards via phone or exact cash at the time of pick up).
When you arrive for pick up, please park on the north side of the building in the same place you dropped off your pet that morning and give us a call to let us know you're here. If we do not answer, it means we are temporarily on the other line and will be out to assist you momentarily. Please note, a mask must also be worn for check out. Please do not walk up to the door or come inside the building.
VACCINE APPOINTMENTS: Once you check in with the technician, you will be asked to wait in the parking lot until the examination is complete. You will then receive a call from the lobby to let you know how your pet did and to collect payment over the phone (we accept either visa credit cards or exact cash). Once this is done, we will bring your pet and paperwork directly out to your car.
For all upcoming appointments, please make sure to e-mail your proof of rabies and any other vaccine history to email@example.com prior to your visit. If you cannot email a scanned or photo copy of your pet's records, please have a copy ready for us at check-in.
Due to the fluid nature of what our country, state, and community is experiencing we are closely monitoring recommendations from the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (AZVMA) to provide the most up-to-date adjustments to our hospital.
