Surgery / Vaccine appointments
- When you arrive in the morning, you will line up in your vehicle on the north side of our building (There are signs and only one side of our building you can line up on, please have your car facing McQueen rd.)
- Please remain in your vehicle and an employee will check you in the order of arrival. Once you and your pet are in the building our doctor will perform a brief examination on your pet before you leave (If you are here for a vaccine appointment you will remain on site until your pet is finished with their appointment).
- Please note, If your pet is aggressive to the point of it becoming a safety issue, we will unfortunately need to refer you to a clinic that can better manage the needs of your pet.
Pre-Visit
Surgery Appointment
- Our surgery visits are on appointment basis only and the check-in time is always between 6:15 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. Please allow yourself 30-60 minutes for the appointment.
- No food or treats should be given to your pet after 10:00 p.m. the night before surgery. Water is okay for your pet to have up until the morning of surgery.
- For the safety of your pet, we require that all dogs come in on a leash and that all cats come in a cat carrier (hard-sided plastic carriers are strongly preferred). If you are bringing your cat in a soft-sided carrier, please make sure it does not collapse on your pet. We also ask that you please put a small blanket or towel in the carrier for your cat's recovery post-surgery.
- As soon as your pet is out of surgery, we will call you to let you know exactly what time he/she is ready to go home. Please remember that we close promptly at 4:00 p.m. and a late fee of $35.00 every 15 minutes past 4 pm will apply, as we are not a 24-hour facility.
- Please remember to bring your pet's previous vaccination records at the time of your appointment you may also e-mail your proof of rabies and any other vaccine history to reception@homewardboundhospital.com . Proof of Rabies is required for your pet to stay with us for the day. If your pet is not up to date on Rabies, a Rabies vaccine will be administered at the time of surgery.
